Meet Our Teachers
When sisters Adrienne and Lydia Bassett co-founded Klassical Kidz Music Studio in 2009, they were already experienced teachers. Now, with over a decade of teaching experience they have gained a reputation, not only for their excellent teaching, but their individualized approach, and innovative methods that inspire and delight students of all ages.
As performers, Lydia and Adrienne have proven themselves serious musicians in both the orchestral and chamber music world. Proponents of New Music, Adrienne and Lydia premiered a violin and harp duo, Lost in a Memory, by local composer Jared Hettrick, which was very well received.
Lydia has been assistant Concertmaster for the Longy Conservatory Orchestra for such performances as, The Marriage of Figaro with Conductor Julian Pellicano, and Dvorak Symphony NO. 7 with Conductor Geoffrey Macdonald. She's played under the baton of Leon Botstein of the American Symphony Orchestra, and last year she joined the vibrant group of musicians that form The Lattitude New Music Ensemble as Concertmaster.
Adrienne was the Principal harpist of the Longy Conservatory Orchestra while completing her Masters of Music at the Longy School of Music of Bard College, where she studied harp performance with Franziska Huhn. She won the Honors Competition in 2012. Adrienne performs with chamber groups and orchestras in the Boston area, and recent projects have included Broadway Musical "The Fantasticks" and a world premiere of "Ruwth, a Chamber Opera". In summer 2014, she attended PRISMA in British Columbia, and performed as Principal Harpist for the two week International festival.
While completing their degree programs, Lydia studied with pianist Brian Moll, and Adrienne studied with pianists Linda Cutting and Naoko Sugiyama. Lydia and Adrienne have both studied with violinist Benedict Goodfriend of the Kandinsky Trio, violinist and teaching legend Eric Rosenblith, and violist Kazuko Matsusaka of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Lydia studied with well-known chamber musician and violin/viola soloist Laura Bossert at the Longy School of Music of Bard College and has her Masters in Violin Performance.
Though active performers, Adrienne and Lydia are dedicated to sharing their love of music with young students and are deeply committed to teaching them how fun and rewarding the study of music can be!

"These women are truly a treasure. They totally give themselves over to their students and their teaching.
We've had several other teachers, but this is the best, most serious, fun, individual and comprehensive experience yet."
